Source: EU may limit supplies of Russian gas at end of autumn

BRUSSELS, Sep 13 (PRIME) -- The E.U. may limit the amount of Russian gas it imports at the end of autumn, an E.U. source told PRIME on Tuesday.

“The European Commission is working and studying different instruments to understand how the E.U. would be able to limit the amount of supplies of Russian gas as soon as possible without making countries that largely depend on imports of Russian gas do that,” the source said.

“It is not ruled out that restriction of Russian gas imports similar to the E.U. ban on oil supplies would become a part of the next package of sanctions against Russia that may be imposed at the end of autumn when capacities of underground storages would be at their highest point,” the source added.
